I recieved my Undergraduate degree in Music, with a minor in Communications. I believe music is one of the most ancient and powerful forces in the world. In the 17th century, mathematician Robert Burton wrote of music's healing powers. “Besides that excellent power it hath to expel many other diseases, it is a sovereign remedy against despair and melancholy, and will drive away the devil himself.” Music continues to change through history, but the effect it has on the soul has not. We all experience this often subconscious force everyday: have you ever tapped your foot to a beat, or wept at the swell of a symphony? Have you ever gotten a song stuck in your head? There's a reason for it. The art of music is a great contributor to meaning in people's lives, and those who are versed in it have much to offer the world.
